Teen Summit: February 22, 2017 at Oregon State University’s LaSells Stewart Center. Teen Summit is a free one day conference open to all 8th to 12th grade students in Benton County with the goal of offering workshops for youth to come together, network, and learn more about important issues that affect their lives. At this conference will be offering a variety of workshops ranging from yoga, mindfulness, music, leadership alternatives to college and providing college information to promote healthy, confident, well balanced youth

Yoga Calm

 

Yoga Calm engages heart, mind and body through its unique integration of physical yoga, social skills games, mindfulness activities, and counseling techniques. It’s yoga for kids and teens that goes beyond the usual yoga benefits of physical fitness, stress reduction and mindfulness. It helps kids develop emotional intelligence, communication skills, trust and empathy. It nurtures teamwork and leadership. It provides for a calmer home and more productive school environment.

One Circle Foundation promotes resiliency in children and youth, families, adults, and communities by offering circle program models that create, restore, and sustain healthy relationships.

Cascadia Expeditions As part of the funding received from the Oregon Department of Education – Youth Council Division for the Benton County Positive Youth Development Coalition, Strengthening Rural Families is organizing trips for youth with Cascadia Expeditions. The preference is to gather a consistent group of 6-10 youth that would attend all 3 activities. Profile: 13-18 year olds that are doing well in their respective communities/programs and would benefit from more skills mastery.

 The first trip will be on july 18th- Whitewater Rafting, August 8th- Canyoneering, August 29th – Rock Climbing.

There is a Liability Release and Permission Form to be completed before the trip.
